Abstract
Please note: this article is in Greek. Teaching literature in the last year of secondary education in Greece and South Australia: This presentation compares the learning area of Modern Greek and English in the secondary education in both Greece and South Australia. It particularly focuses in the subject “Modern Greek literature” in the last year of high school in Greece and the subject “English Studies” in Year 12 in South Australia. We are interested in the way that literature and the learning area are specified in both systems and the curriculum contents and achievements standards. Furthermore we try to discover some theories, which these teaching programs in Greece and Australia reflect and the reason why these theories and perceptions prevailed in education.
