Abstract
This article discusses the knowledge people acquire through working: how to be productive workers. Areas covered include the type of employment and its effect on the level of skills development; the ways in which the employment of people has changed over the past decade; and the effect on opportunities they have to develop vocational skills due to changing ways in which they are employed.
