ItemMan in Australia: Present and Past(Australian Archaeological Association, 1974-11) White, J PThis article discusses the ethnographic and archaeological evidence for the existence of hunter-gatherer communities during the Pleistocene in Australia. During that time both Aboriginal culture and the environment have undergone considerable change. Discoveries at Lake Mungo and Kow Swamp, with the associated fossil record, have contributed to these ongoing discussions.
