This collection includes approximately 3,500 speeches, press releases and other public statements made by Don Dunstan during his parliamentary career held in the Dunstan Collection in Flinders University Library.
The collection contains notes or scripts for speeches given by Dunstan, and the text of articles written by him for various publications.
From 1959 to 1961 Dunstan, as Labor Member for Norwood in the South Australian Parliament, presented a weekly broadcast on local radio. This collection contains many of his handwritten scripts with transcripts.
The collection also contains press releases issued by the Dunstan's office during his years as Premier and Leader of the Opposition.
